Yes, please follow the DWSC Gun safety rules as follows:
All firearms must be unloaded.
The firearm has to be inserted in a gun case or box with absolutely NO ammunition in the case or box.
(Long guns please see note below)
Proceed to the designated “Safety Table”.
Wait for and allow our designated “Safety Officer” to open and inspect the firearm to double check that the firearm is unloaded and no ammunition is available.
Lock the action open. If it is a revolver, leave the cylinder open.
Our “Safety Officer” will attach a GREEN ZIP-TIE to the trigger guard, indicating the firearm has been double checked and is unloaded.
The firearm will be placed on the designated counter or table facing in a safe direction.
“Treat all firearms as loaded and always point a firearm in a safe direction”
The ZIP-TIED firearm can be explained and demonstrated, including closing the action and pulling a trigger. Again, facing in a safe direction.
Upon completion of the demo the action/cylinder MUST be open and returned to the designated area.
The owner of the ZIP-TIED firearm must stand by and supervise any person handling their firearm. ONLY ZIP-TIED FIREARMS CAN BE SHOWN OR HANDLED.
The ZIP-TIED firearm can be manipulated, pointing it in a SAFE DIRECTION.
The ZIP-TIE MUST remain on the trigger guard. Return the firearm to your the case and leave the meeting room.
